Girl's Cruise to Mexico

This is Michelle Rivera. We invited her to come to the girls only cruise with us. She is a young mom with two small children, who never goes out. We were shocked when said yes. Right before we were leaving to the airport, we called here to let her know we were on our way to pick her up. She said she didn't want to go...she didn't want to leave her children...her husband...plus, it was her first time away from CT, first time on a plane and of course, first time on a BOAT!. We pleaded with her to no avail. We all left to the airport sad that she gave into her fears and didn't come. At the airport we get a call saying she changed her mind and that her husband was dropping her off!! (mind you..she lives in Bridgeport, CT and we were at LaGuardia Airport in NY....all checked in). Her husband must have broken all speeding laws....she got to the airport just in time to check in her luggage and throw her on the airplane....GOSH!!! What a start to a vacation!!

She's starting to look more relaxed....of course I ended up sitting with her and all the other girls were laughing!!!! NEUROTIC PERSON, FIRST TIME ON AN AIRPLANE.

We were all smiles when we got to Miami International Airport until an agent told us we had to wait. See next picture for explanation.

I don't know where to begin.....three days before our boat was scheduled to sail. Miami and Southern Florida go hit with a major Hurricane. We were doubting and wondering if we were going to be able to go. There was a lot of destruction in Miami and Southern Florida. The night before departure we call the cruise line and they confirmed that we were all set to sail. So, we take off the next morning to Miami. At Miami Airport, we are told that a shuttle bus from the cruise line was picking us up. Two hours later we were still at the airport. We started to complain and then they told us that the shuttle wasn't coming till 12:00 p.m. (mind you we got to the airport at 8:30 in the morning. Finally at about 1:00 p.m., the shuttle shows up and we were off to the port to board the ship. (that is why we were all asleep on the airport floor)! o.O

Well...we get to the port and we can't believe our eyes.....the line to check in is outside. We investigate and find out that they are not opening the doors till 3:00 p.m. (that's the time we were suppose to set sail) The heat was unbearable!!!! I was starting to get in a bad mood. They finally opened the doors at 4:00 p.m. and check-in was unbearable....people pushing and shoving and so much unpleasantries. This was all due to the hurricane......everything was behind schedule (they "omitted" to tell us that part when we call to see if everything was on schedule :-( ) Anyway, we finaly got to our rooms around 6:00 p.m.
